“Ai Group welcomes the expansion announced today of the New Energy Apprenticeships Program to include a broader range of occupations,” Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group said.
“More young people will be incentivised to take up apprenticeship opportunities in trade areas that support the transition to and sustainment of a clean economy.
“However, it should be noted that vital trade skills are required to be developed across the economy. It would be regrettable if some occupations, despite being of equal worth and necessity, were overlooked by aspiring apprentices because of targeted and limited programs,” Mr Willox said.
