UUMV Charges, North Brisbane

Police have arrested and charged seven teenagers following an alleged stolen car incident in Chermside early this morning, May 10.

Shortly after midnight, police responded to reports a ride share vehicle had been approached by a group of seven people while parked near a fast-food restaurant along Hamilton Road.

The driver of the vehicle was able to exit the car and attend a nearby fast-food restaurant, where the group followed him, and an altercation ensued.

Staff from the restaurant attempted to aid the man before the group exited the restaurant and approached a second ride share driver in the carpark.

The group stole the second driver’s keys before getting into his vehicle and driving away.

Both drivers, and two staff from the restaurant, sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Police tracked the vehicle as it travelled through Clayfield, Nundah and South Brisbane, before successfully deploying a tyre deflation device at Goodna at approximately 1.40am.

The car came to a stop a short time later and police took seven people into custody.
