New u-turn lane on Clyde Road at the Gibb Street intersection

The new U-turn on Clyde Road at the Gibb Street intersection

A new U-turn and signalised pedestrian crossing is now open on Clyde Road at the Gibb Street intersection.

Vehicles will be able to access Reserve Street via the new U-turn, northbound on Clyde Road.

The U-turn was built to maintain access to Reserve Street once the new underpass opens in 2022.

The right turn lane into Reserve Street is permanently closed to traffic, except for local buses.

The pedestrian crossing has been installed to improve safety for pedestrians moving through the local area, allowing safe pedestrian access to local businesses and public transport.

This is all part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to improve safety and remove every level crossing on the Pakenham line by 2025.

Works will continue at Clyde Road to remove the level crossing, build the new road underpass and improve local connections by 2022.
