  • Architects appointed for the new Child Parent Centre at Arbor Grove Primary School
  • Centre will provide essential health and wellbeing services to parents and children in Ellenbrook
  • Construction to begin in January 2020
  • Construction on a new centre that will provide essential health and wellbeing services to families in Ellenbrook is a step closer.

Hodge Collard Preston Architects have been selected to design the new Child Parent Centre to be based at Arbor Grove Primary School.

The centre will include two large group rooms, two consultant offices, one clinic and outdoor play areas.

It will be available to the local community, and will offer programs and services for families and young children aged from birth to eight years.

The community will have input into the types of programs and services available which could include antenatal education, child health checks, parenting programs and speech pathology.

Construction is expected to start in January 2020, with the centre open to families in January 2021.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“This centre will give local families access to advice, programs and services all designed to give children the best possible start to their education.

“The McGowan Government is investing $452.8 million in 2019-20 to improve infrastructure in Western Australian public schools and create jobs.”

As stated by Swan Hills MLA Jessica Shaw:

“The broader Ellenbrook area was the only part of the metropolitan area without access to a Child and Parent Centre, despite having so many young families and such significant population growth. I’m so glad the McGowan Government is listening to us and providing our community with the things we need and deserve.

“Our local families will now have support from the time children are born through to starting school and beyond, making children’s transition to school much easier.”
