The Crisafulli Government is delivering relief you can rely on for Queensland school families, with more than $19 million of Back to School Boost support used so far this year.
As Term 3 gets underway today, families have been accessing more of their Back to School Boost, with total redemptions hitting more than $19 million, to help cover the cost of school essentials.
Parents and carers across Queensland have used the credit to help pay for school related expenses such as uniforms, stationery, excursions and extra-curricular activities.
The Crisafulli Government is providing relief Queensland families can rely on, with this year’s Budget delivering extra support from next year, with Back to School Boost funding increasing by 50 per cent to $150 for every Queensland primary school student.
The Back to School Boost credit can be used anytime during the school year, it doesn’t have an expiry date and can even be saved-up and used in future years at State schools, private schools and home schooling.
Minister for Education and the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the Back to School Boost had been embraced by the local community.
“Parents at Manly State School have used 68 per cent of their Back to School Boost funding so far this year, putting thousands of dollars back in the pockets of parents in this Bayside community,” Minister Langbroek said.
“The Crisafulli Government has a plan for Queensland’s future and by increasing the payment to $150 next year, it will help families for years to come.
“After a decade of decline under Labor, the Crisafulli Government’s Budget is strengthening the foundations for a fresh start with a bigger Back to School Boost, 22 new schools, safer classrooms and less red tape.”
