$2 Million Immediate Resilience Plan: Boost to Incentivise School Trips to NT

Interstate schools can apply for $3,000 towards the cost of a school trip to the NT as part of the Territory Labor Government’s $2 million Immediate Tourism Resilience Plan.

The boost from $1,000 to $3,000 for the Save & Learn – NT School Excursion Program is available for interstate school groups that book an NT excursion between 1 September 2020 and 31 March 2021.

Establishing an added incentive for school groups considering their educational tours will deliver a boost for NT operators and elevate the Territory over other states.

Recognising that costs and timing are major factors when planning an interstate excursion for students, the Save & Learn program encourages more schools to travel and spend extended time in the NT.

School trips departing up until 31 August 2020 and between 1 April and 30 June 2021 will continue to be able to claim $1,000.

The program is available to any interstate Australian school group with a minimum of 10 students, staying at least five nights in the Territory and incorporating a minimum of three NT Learning Adventure educational experiences.
