2000+ Kids Vaccinated in One Week

NT Government

The first week of the paediatric vaccine rollout has been a success with more than 2300 jabs administered.

More than 3900 paediatric vaccine appointments are booked for NT Health vaccination centres in an encouraging sign ahead of school resuming in 2022.

There are 24,750 children in the Northern Territory which fall in the 5-11 age bracket, which means 9.3 per cent have already received their first dose.

It is recommended children in this demographic receive two doses of the paediatric vaccine, eight weeks apart.

NT Health will also be vaccinating 5-11 year olds in Pirlangimpi, Milikapiti, Jabiru, Julanimawu, Nauiyu (Daly River), Belyuen, Papunya, Mt Liebig, Milyakburra, Angurugu, Alyangula and Umbakumba this month.

82 per cent of Territorians aged 12 – 15 have received their first dose, and 70 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Children aged 5 – 11 will also be able to receive their vaccination at pharmacies, ACCHOs, GPs and NTG vaccination centres.

Consent from a parent or guardian is required for children to receive their COVID-19 vaccine dose.

COVID-19 vaccinations are administered at pharmacies, ACCHOs, GPs and NTG vaccination centres.
