2022 Annual Community Strengthening Grants Program applications are open

Our Annual Community Strengthening Grants Program is back for 2022!

This program helps support local organisations to deliver one-off projects, activities and initiatives that strengthen our community.

This year, not-for profit community organisations and groups can apply for grants of up to $10,000 under six streams:

  • Active Community
  • Creative Community
  • Sustainable Community
  • Healthy Community
  • Life-long Community
  • Vibrant Retail Precincts

In 2021, we contributed just over $290,000 of funding to support 55 applications. One of the recipients was the Boroondara Eagles Football Club. They received a $9,000 grant to roll out an education and support program called Doing Mental Health Differently, by Building Self-Worth and Demonstrating Respect. The grant funding will help provide education opportunities to explore and strengthen self-worth and respect, to help members improve their overall mental health and wellbeing.

Another recipient was the Melbourne Hindustani Classic Music Society. They were awarded a $6,889 grant to support the delivery of the Melbourne International Festival of Hindustani Classical Music.

If you have a project idea, we encourage you to have a chat to our officers. They can help you to plan your project or activity, identify the most appropriate stream, and meet the funding and program priorities.

To assist you in preparing for your application, you can attend a Grant Writing Help Session. We also have a step-by-step guide to help you prepare and apply for your grant.

Applications close at 11:59pm on Monday, 30 May 2022.
