2022 Aussie Bird Count: Casey

The 2022 Great Aussie Bird Count will be held from 17 to 23 October and you’re invited to join in!

Residents from the City of Casey are encouraged to head out to their front yards, backyards, courtyards, parks and play areas for a 20-minute period to count how many birds they see to provide a snapshot of Australia’s more common bird species.

Once you have completed your count, you can submit it online at aussiebirdcount.org.au or via the free Aussie Bird Count app, which is available from the App Store or Google Play.

Collecting this data at the same time each year allows Birdlife Australia to look at the trends in our bird communities over time.

The results will also give a view into the birdlife we have in the City of Casey and provide valuable data that helps shape councils biodiversity and conservation efforts.

Make a difference for bird conservation by giving a moment of your time to count the birds that are counting on you.
