2022 Casey Business Award winners announced

Despite some of the toughest business conditions in Australia’s history, CFM Air Conditioning has remained quality oriented and completely committed to their staff – now, among other recent accolades, they’ve just been announced 2022 Casey Business of the Year.

City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM is thrilled that CFM Air Conditioning’s investments into their staff are paying off.

Ms Duff said, “Among a field of high-achieving local businesses, CFM Air Conditioning stood out to the judges for their innovation through adversity by promoting from within, investing in their team’s skills and rewarding those whose workload had increased.

“It’s an inspiring example of how crucial your staff members are to the success of any organisation and how sound investments into their advancement and wellbeing can return ten-fold.” added Ms Duff.

“The judges were also incredibly impressed to see a business with a female CEO thriving in a traditionally male dominated industry,” added Ms Duff.

At the awards ceremony on 10 November 2022 at Bunjil Place, another two businesses and one business leader were recognised for their business excellence and contribution to the wider business community.

Winners of the 2022 Casey Business Awards are:

  • City of Casey Business of the Year 2022: CFM Air Conditioning
  • Employment Category: CFM Air Conditioning
  • Sustainability Category: Beaconsfield Dental
  • Innovation Category: Coolon LED Lighting
  • Business Leadership: Daniel Muir, Amstel Club

Business of the Year and Employment Category, CFM Air Conditioning

Digging into the admirable growth of CFM Air Conditioning, you’ll note that their actions in pursuit of this growth are intentional, smart and agile. Alongside some of the latest marketing technologies to help grow their business, they have invested heavily in their staff to future-proof this growth. And they’re not just full of hot air…

The judges celebrated their holistic approach to running their business, specifically noting the warm environment they have created for their team and consequently their team’s enthusiasm to come into work each day.

Sustainability Category, Beaconsfield Dental

Beaconsfield Dental have long displayed their devotion to sustainability with thoughtfully designed building features and innovative internal processes, not to mention their ongoing environmental advocacy efforts. While they have won this category before, this year’s win cements their place in the green hall of fame and with it their inspiration to other local organisations to follow in their footsteps.

The judges celebrated their practical implementation of numerous initiatives, which are supported by a strong policy.

Innovation Category, Coolon LED Lighting

Coolon LED Lighting’s investment into research and development helped them to launch a new generation of smart lights for harsh industrial sites and has helped to catapult their growth by multiplying their collection of completed projects by five – despite the pandemic’s restrictions limiting some of their most critical components.

The judges celebrated Coolon’s bravery in investing in research and development in the face of tremendous worldwide uncertainty and their tenacity to achieve their goals despite it.

Business Leadership

As CEO of Amstel Club, Daniel Muir is incredibly respected both by his staff and those in the broader hospitality industry. His leadership helped to steer the club through a tumultuous period and helped it to emerge as a hospitality employer of choice, while also opening up the club to share best practice principles with other local hospitality managers.

The judges celebrated Daniel’s support for local community groups, to whom he opens up the club for free use and his recent appointment to the Board of advocacy group Community Clubs of Victoria.
