2023 Thrive Together Fair

Shoalhaven City Council is delighted to announce the return of the annual Thrive Together Fair dedicated to supporting members of the community doing it tough.

The fair will take place on Tuesday 8 August, from 10am to 2pm, at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, Cambewarra Road in Bomaderry.

“Thrive Together Fair is a one-day free event where community can access vital resources, build meaningful connections, and experience the power of community support,” said Mayor Amanda Findley.

“I encourage all community of Shoalhaven to join us and discover the valuable services and connections available to uplift and empower individuals and families,” said Cr Findley.

Legal and tenancy experts will be available to address inquiries, provide guidance, and offer referrals. Southern Cross Housing will be present to assist with housing applications.

Aged care specialists and financial information service officers from Services Australia will be on hand to answer questions. Service NSW will provide information on vouchers, rebates, and the Savings Finder Program.

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District will facilitate referrals to health services, including women’s health, dentistry, and breast cancer screenings. Attendees will have access to on-the-spot health check-ups, Hepatitis C testing, and a range of mental health services tailored to all age groups.

Providers of aged care and disability support services will offer advice, referrals, and assistance with registering for aged care and NDIS support. Local welfare services will also be available to provide support and connect individuals with an extensive range of local assistance programs. Attendees can explore opportunities for local volunteering, learning, and employment at dedicated service booths.

The Thrive Together Fair aims to foster a sense of community and mutual support. Participants can look forward to a wide variety of engaging and enjoyable free activities, food, and giveaways.

Every attendee will have the opportunity to receive a care pack before leaving the event. The fair will also provide access to free haircuts, shower facilities, and refreshments.
