2026 Community Sponsorships Awarded

On Wednesday 15 July, Council proudly hosted its annual Community Sponsorship and Grants Presentation, an event celebrating our people and what makes our Borough special.

Council was delighted to award 11 Event Sponsorships and 13 Community Grants to organisations that support community, art and cultural projects, and activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of residents living in the Borough of Queenscliffe.

Held at the Point Lonsdale Bowls Club, the event was an opportunity for recipients to come together and celebrate. CEO Jane Grover attended alongside Cr Cameron, Cr Monahan, while Mayor Donnie Grigau and Cr Tolhurst presented the grants and sponsorships to a delighted group of recipients.

Mayor Grigau acknowledged the dedication of the many volunteers and community organisations whose work strengthens the Borough.

“When our community organisations succeed, our whole Borough benefits,” Cr Grigau said.

“Whether you’re supporting young people, promoting health and wellbeing, preserving our history, strengthening community connections, or delivering events that bring residents and visitors together, your contribution makes our Borough a better place for everyone.”

Cr Grigau also recognised the invaluable role volunteers play in building a strong and resilient community.

“Strong communities are built by people who are prepared to volunteer, organise, coach, perform, preserve our history, support their neighbours and give back to others. Tonight is our opportunity to recognise and thank you for doing exactly that.”
