Deputy Premier and Minister for Women and Gender Equality Gabrielle Williams today announced the new inductees at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
This recognises some of our remarkable women and gender diverse people of different ages, backgrounds and fields.
This year, 27 women and gender diverse people who have contributed to Victoria were inducted.
Inductees include pioneering TV personality Elizabeth Chong AM, who introduced Chinese culture to families across Australia.
Gippsland CFA hero Kathryn Williams was also inducted for mentoring more women to become leaders in the CFA.
Trailblazer Professor Katharine Drummond AM was also recognised for reshaping how brain tumours are treated.
Royal Melbourne Hospital Scrub Choir founder Dr Emma O’Brien OAM was inducted, for being a visionary in music and healthcare.
Aunty Lorraine Parsons was inducted for four decades of work to improve health outcomes for our First Nations communities.
These women have all shown leadership and excellence in their field of expertise or commitment to the community.
By recognising these incredible women, Labor is empowering them to inspire a new generation of heroes.
More than 800 women and gender diverse people have been inducted to Victorian Honour Roll of Women since 2001.
