The Albanese Government is supporting eight projects across regional, rural and remote Australia with $45 million in funding through the latest round of the regional Precincts and Partnerships Program.
The $400 million program supports projects across regional, rural and remote Australia, driving local jobs, economic growth and more resilient regional communities.
This funding round includes projects in Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, NSW and the Northern Territory.
Among the projects to receive funding is the redevelopment of Crago Mill Cultural Precinct in Yass Valley.
The Albanese Government will contribute $10 million towards the $45 million project to renew the site as a cultural and civic hub.
The major development in central Yass will bring together council services, a modern library, flexible community and business facilities, and an emergency management centre in one accessible location.
Stage 1 of the precinct redevelopment is nearing completion, including an administration building, emergency operations centre and library.
The Albanese Government’s funding for Stage 2 will build on this work by rehabilitating the Crago Mill building, which will feature a café, a yarning circle, and cultural artworks and storytelling displays.
