$46,000 in funding is available as part of the 2023 Central Goldfields Shire Community Grants Program.

Grants above $500 are available to community-based organisations looking for financial support to deliver activities, programs, small events, equipment and infrastructure.

In a new initiative, an additional category has been introduced for projects that address the impacts of climate change.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Grace La Vella said the Community Grant Program was a fantastic opportunity for community groups and organisations to seek funding for community-led projects.

“Community groups and organisations are integral to our community, and we know that funding to deliver projects and events can be challenging to access.

“If you are looking to host an event, activity, program or purchase equipment that will increase community inclusion and equity, promote being active and healthy, or contribute to the local economy, then we encourage you to apply for a Community Grant.”

“Plus, in a first for Council, this year we’re also looking forward to hearing about projects that address the impact of climate change.”

Applications are now open and will close Friday, 21 July 2023.
