On Saturday 28th January 2023, Maryborough will host our very own Pride Festival!
The Central Goldfields Shire, together with Mill House, have been organising Pride Festival Maryborough, an event that recognises and celebrates our LGBTIQA+ community.
Open to the whole community this event will provide a safe, relaxed and fun environment where we can gather together for an afternoon and celebrate inclusion.
We have planned a large entertainment marquee for live music, and a whole range of fun small marquees for activities as well as great food and drink.
During the initial talks with our youth, community members and organisations, we received an overwhelmingly positive response. It’s especially important for our youth to know our community supports and celebrates diversity.
We are a far more accepting society than we have been in the past but there is still a way to go before we end discrimination and judgement. I have been really proud of the community response so far and thank all who have contributed.
This is an event for the whole of our community and I look forward to seeing you there.
