A celebration of culture and unity

The rich cultural heritage of Hobsons Bay will be on show from 15-27 March with a free program of activities to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week and Harmony Day.

With residents from over 140 different countries, speaking more than 100 languages and celebrating over 90 faiths, Cultural Diversity Week offers a perfect opportunity to explore the worldly flavours and cultural and spiritual adventures available in our own backyard.

Some program highlights include a Spanish tapas cooking class for young people at ‘Heart of Hall’ in Newport, an all-abilities and all-cultures fun run/walk with the Hobsons Bay Running Club and a cultural heritage and language sharing morning tea at the Seabrook Community Centre.

Cultural Diversity Week is Victoria’s biggest annual multicultural celebration and coincides with the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
