AJF Priority Area: Scientific Innovation
Country location: Australia, Japan
Grantee: National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST)
Project description
The collaboration of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and RMIT University aims at promoting sustainable, carbon-free solutions for strengthening the global response to the threat of climate change. Australia and Japan are two countries which have launched hydrogen roadmaps as a blueprint for the development of a hydrogen economy. Hydrogen and hydrogen carriers are a viable solution for the decarbonisation of the transportation and power generation sectors. The consortium will work towards developing advanced simulation models and approaches to understand the combustion phenomena and optimise the combustion process of hydrogen energy carriers for power generation applications. Results dissemination and educational activities have been planned to promote public awareness and understanding of environmental issues. The project participants will seek to build a strong and long-lasting collaboration while growing this network with additional partners.
