A Symphony in Suburbs with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

xperience a summer symphony this January when the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra brings popular classical music to Melbourne’s backyards in a series of concerts.

On Sunday 17 January, the MSO will perform excerpts and short works from much-loved music in a relaxed family-friendly concert at Town Hall Broadmeadows.

MSO conductor Benjamin Northey encouraged everyone living in Melbourne’s outer suburbs to step out of their homes and enjoy this special event for all ages in their local neighbourhood.

”The MSO is not only bringing the band back together in 2021, but we are also heading out of the concert hall for Symphony in the Suburbs. These summer concerts are our chance to perform some of the best-known classics for music lovers in greater Melbourne areas.

”Whether you’re a lover of orchestras or brand new to classical music, these concerts will be a fun and engaging way to experience the magic of the MSO live in concert. What a way to start the new year!” said Maestro Northey.

The MSO will be performing two sessions at Town Hall Broadmeadows:

Jams for Juniors (10am to 11am) and Summer Symphony with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (6.30pm to 7.30pm).

Tickets start at just $5 and you can even add a picnic hamper or cushion for the full Summer Symphony experience.
