ABS encouraging everyone to complete their Census

With less than 24 hours until Census night, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is reminding people they can complete their Census early if they have received their instructions.

Emily Walter, Census national spokesperson, said: “While many households have completed their Census, we’re urging those who haven’t to do so as soon as possible.

“Most households should have now received a letter in their mailbox with instructions on how to complete the Census.

“If you know where you’ll be on Census night, you can complete your Census early. You don’t have to wait until Census night.”

Data from the Census is used to build a picture of what communities across Australia need. It’s used to inform planning for local services for individuals, families and communities.

A range of ways are available to complete the Census this year, including online or via a paper form.

Additional support is available for those who need it, including Census field staff, phone and online services, information hubs in public spaces and translated material.
