The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to authorise the Australian Property Institute and its current and future members (together, the API) to make and give effect to the API’s:
- professional standards
- membership obligations
- disciplinary arrangements.
The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation for 5 years.
The ACCC has also granted interim authorisation for the API to continue to make and give effect to certain clauses within its suite of governance and policy documents. The clauses set standards of professional behaviour and impose certain membership requirements and sanctions on its members.
The ACCC is now seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by 3 September 2026, before making its final decision.
