Swan Hill Rural City Council is excited to announce that the upgrade to the accessible toilet at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC has been completed.
Director of Community and Cultural Services, Bruce Myers reaffirmed Council’s dedication to creating a fully inclusive community by ensuring facilities and services are accessible.
“Council became concerned after receiving community feedback about the difficulties people were experiencing when using the accessible toilet at the Swan Hill Town Hall,”
“In response to these concerns, the upgraded accessible toilet features a spacious layout for easy maneuvering, anti-slip vinyl floor covering, and a stainless-steel baby changing table,”
“The space has been freshly painted to create a clean, bright, and inviting atmosphere for users,” added Mr Myers.
Local community member Maureen Hewitt, who played a significant part in initiating this upgrade, expressed her satisfaction with the overall result. She noted that it is now much easier for patrons in wheelchairs, walkers, and buggies, along with parents with prams, to access the toilet.
“I’m really happy with the end result,” stated Ms Hewitt.
Mr Myers sees this upgrade as a positive move towards a more inclusive community.
