Accessing Support And Funding Through Auspicing

Community - Auspicing workshopTo ‘auspice’ means to provide guidance, sponsorship, or other forms of support and if you are thinking about entering an auspicing arrangement with another group, then come along to a special workshop about auspicing and how it can help you on Monday, 11 March 2024 from 10am to midday at the Tebbutt Room, Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor.

Auspicing can be a great way for community groups to trial a new project or program, hold a one-off event, or access funding or insurance, but it’s important to understand the legal implications and the responsibilities of all parties.

An in-depth, interactive exploration of auspicing, with small group sessions for participants to workshop legal issues, discuss scenarios and problem-solve as a group.

What will be covered:

  • What is auspicing, how it works and when to consider it
  • What does an auspicing agreement look like?
  • Pros and cons for the auspicor and auspicee
  • Key considerations for both parties (eg, the people involved, intellectual property, and reporting)
  • What to do if things go wrong
  • Top tips and further resources.

The workshop will be presented by Justice Connect and Hawkesbury City Council’s Bright Ideas to Build Resilience Project with a light lunch included.
