Cybercrime Squad investigators have laid 10 additional charges against a woman after $500,000 was allegedly netted through email scams and altered invoices.
Detectives from State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad established Strike Force Belltree to investigate a criminal syndicate targeting interstate businesses through email scams and altered invoices.
A 30-year-old Bankstown man was charged in relation to the investigation in August 2019.
In October 2019, a 30-year-old Campsie woman and 30-year-old Kyeemagh woman were also charged by strike force detectives.
All three currently remain before the courts.
On Thursday 28 November 2019, detectives charged the 30-year-old Kyeemagh woman with six further offences, including; five counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
Following further inquiries, detectives laid an additional 10 charges against the woman on Friday 31 January 2020.
She was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, three counts of possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance and five counts of deal with identity info to commit etc indictable offence.
The woman was granted strict conditional bail and is next due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 13 February 2020).
Investigations under Strike Force Belltree are continuing.
