Police have charged four additional people following an investigation into a fatal shooting in Sydney’s west earlier this year.
On Monday 16 March 2026, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged shooting on Shale Street, Lidcombe.
A 38-year-old man was taken to a hospital: however, he could not be revived.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced Strike Force Vanport to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, seven men – two aged 19, two aged 18, 20, 21 and 26 – have since been charged and they remain before the court.
Following further inquiries, today (Friday 25 September 2026), detectives from Auburn Police Area Command, with assistance from Nepean Police Area Command, Mount Druitt Police Area Command, Burwood Police Area Command, Northern Beaches Police Area Command, and South Sydney Police Area Command, executed six search warrants at homes in Willmot, Colyton, Oakhurst, Belrose, Jordan Springs, and Everleigh.
About 5.30am, a 23-year-old man was arrested on Southee Circuit, Oakhurst. He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station and charged with murder and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
About 7.30am, a 24-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Devon Street, Rosehill. She was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with murder and hinder investigation serious indictable offence.
About 7.45am, a 19-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Pindrie Place, Belrose. She was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with murder – accessory after the fact to an offence.
About 7.50am, a 20-year-old man was arrested at Kemps Creek and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station. He was charged with murder, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – 2nd offence.
All four people were refused bail. The 23-year-old man and the 20-year-old man are due to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court today.
The 24-year-old woman is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court today, while the 19-year-old woman is due to appear before Manly Local Court today.
Inquiries under Strike Force Vanport continue.
