Aerial baiting for wild dogs to commence 24 August

Western Local Land Services is set to undertake its aerial baiting program for the control of wild dogs. 1080 (pronounced ‘ten eighty’) poison baits will be used with the rate of application being 10 baits per kilometre.

The program will commence on 24 August and is planned to be completed by 6 September, with 142 properties involved.

The area covered through the program is from Enngonia in the north-east, to Broken Hill in the west, near Pooncarie in the south-west and to Mt Hope in the south-east.

Following aerial baiting, ground baiting will be carried out throughout September. All baiting activities will adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.
