Aged care update: Sapphire Coast granted extended due diligence period

The preferred candidate to work with Council to take over operations & ownership of our aged care operations, Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care Ltd (SCCAC), was granted an extended 12mth due diligence period to prepare their detailed divestment proposal.

During their discussion on the motion, Councillors spoke positively of the proposal from SCCAC. They noted that the careful and thorough approach proposed by the organisation demonstrated their commitment to making the right decision. Councillors felt this will go a long way in ensuring the success of aged care in the Snowy Monaro.

SCCAC and Council’s residential aged care team will work closely together during the 12-month period, and the collaboration will help build relationships between the two teams prior to SCCAC taking over operations. It will also provide residents and relatives and the wider Snowy Monaro Community an opportunity to become familiar with Sapphire Coast and the values that underpin their residential aged care service delivery.

Through the EOI process earlier in the year, SCCAC met all criteria including the intention to maintain and improve the quality of services, employment continuation with the new service provider, and the proposed expansion of residential aged care services into Jindabyne.

Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care is a community-based organisation whose values align closely with those of Snowy Monaro Regional Council and our community. They have a strong track record of delivering quality residential aged care services in the SE NSW region. SCCAC has 40 Years of history of providing all levels of care and support to locals from Retirement Village, Home Care packages and residential care in the southern region of NSW.
