Aggravated robbery – Arrest in Alice Springs

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to two incidents of robbery in Alice Springs this week.

Around 3:35am on Tuesday January 14 it will be alleged the man, who had stolen a bottle of soft drink, pulled out a knife and threatened a staff member outside a service station on the Stuart Highway.

In a separate incident the man is alleged to have verbally threatened a security guard when he was confronted for stealing multiple items at a supermarket on Wednesday January 15 at 5:40pm. He was arrested in the area by members of the Community Youth Engagement Team shortly after.

The man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on January 17 charged with one count each of Aggravated Robbery, Stealing and Assault on a worker.
