Aggravated Robbery Charges At Armadale

Armadale Detectives have charged a 32-year-old man in relation to an aggravated robbery incident in which an 89-year-old man was allegedly dragged from his vehicle and assaulted, before his car was stolen.
It will be alleged about 2.25pm on Tuesday 5 November 2024, a man aged in his 70s was outside his address on Dawson Street in Armadale when he was approached by the accused, who is unknown to him. A verbal altercation occurred and the accused stole the resident’s mobile phone before departing the address.
It will be further alleged, about 10 minutes later, the accused arrived at a residence nearby on Benjamin Street.
He approached an 89-year-old male occupant at his driver’s side door, just after he had parked his vehicle in his carport. He then dragged the 89-year-old man out of his vehicle, pushed him to the ground and stole his vehicle.
Both men were unknown to each other.
The 89-year-old man attended hospital and received medical treatment for injuries sustained to his left wrist and left hip.
On Wednesday 6 November 2024, police attended an address in Gosnells. The accused was located and he was apprehended. The stolen vehicle was located nearby in Gosnells.
A 32-year-old man from Saint James has been charged with:
• 1 x Aggravated Robbery
• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
• 1 x Stealing
• 1 x Attempted Home Burglary with Intent
He is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court today, Thursday 7 November 2024.
