Police can confirm all drivers have been accounted for following a multi-truck crash in the Southern Tablelands this morning.
About 5am today (Tuesday 30 June 2026), emergency services were called to Windmills Rest Area parking, northbound on the Hume Highway, Breadalbane, about 32km south- west of Goulburn, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash and fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW responded and extinguished the blaze, which involved six semi-trailers. All six trucks were destroyed.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated six male drivers for minor injuries.
Two drivers, aged 23 and 28, were taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Following inquiries on scene, police have confirmed all drivers involved are accounted for.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Initial investigations suggest two trucks collided and became alight, before the fire spread to four other trucks that were parked at the rest bay nearby.
The Hume Highway at Breadalbane is closed in both directions and is expected to be closed for several hours. Diversions are in place via The Federal Hwy and Barton Hwy via Canberra.
