All welcome at Thrive Together Fair

Shoalhaven City Council in partnership with Grand Pacific Health are hosting the Thrive Together Fair, as part of Homelessness Week 2021, for those people in the community who are “doing it tough”. The event will take place at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, Bomaderry on Wednesday 4 August 2021 from 10.00am – 3.00pm.

The last 18 months have been tough on many Shoalhaven residents, having supported one another during bushfires, flooding and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Council is inviting residents in the Shoalhaven who are doing it tough to come along to the Thrive Together Fair, a one-day free event that aims to connect people with the services and support they need in one location. This will also be a great opportunity to get to know new people and have some fun.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley is encouraging the community to let those who have been doing it tough know about the event.

“Our Thrive Together Fair is a fantastic event that will have all services and facilities needed by those doing it tough under the one roof.” Clr Findley said.

“This is a great opportunity for Shoalhaven residents to connect with financial, housing, legal, government, health or mental health and wellbeing support without the hassle, everyone you need in one place on one day! Not to mention all the freebies: BBQ lunch, giveaways, health checks, entertainment and a free bus available to book to get you to and from the event.”

“We will also be distributing our care packs which have been made possible from donations Council received from the Shoalhaven and wider community.” Clr Findley said.

“I am asking the community to make sure if they know someone who has been doing it tough, to let them know about this fantastic event.” Clr Findley said.

All community members who are experiencing financial or housing hardship, or at risk of or experiencing homelessness, are welcome to participate in this free event.

This is a COVID Safe event, everyone attending are reminded to adhere to NSW Health guidelines and restrictions. Face Masks and hand santiser will be provided on entry, all attendees are reminded to check in using the QR Code provided, Council staff will be able to support with manual check-ins as well.
