AMA Federal Council Election, AGM, Awards and National Conference

AMA members are invited to attend the 29-31 July 2022 AMA National Conference.

The three-day Continuing Professional Development eligible program will be held in Sydney and by video. The event will include the election of the new AMA President and Vice President, and the 2022 AMA award winners will be announced. Registrations open this Friday 1 April.

Awards

Nominations are open for AMA awards. Members may nominate a colleague for an award by clicking on the following categories:

Nominations by State and Territory AMAs are also open for admission to the AMA Roll of Fellows.

Federal Council Elections

Nominations for election to Federal Council will open on 8 April and close on 6 May. AMA members may nominate for election in the following categories:

  • Practice Groups of General Practice, Private Specialist Practice, Public Hospital Doctors, Doctors in Training, and Rural Doctors.

  • Speciality Groups of Anaesthetists, Dermatologists, Emergency Physicians, Obstetrician-Gynaecologists, Ophthalmologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Paediatricians, Pathologists, Physicians, Psychiatrists, Radiologists, and Surgeons.

  • Ordinary Members of any doctor in any speciality, craft group or career stage.

Details on how to nominate for election will be provided to members on 8 April. Members of Federal Council eligible for and seeking re-election are also required to nominate by 6 May. The new Federal Council commences its term from 1 August.

AMA’s AGM will be held at 7pm AEST on 26 May. The video meeting is open to all members. Meeting notices will be sent to members by 5 May.
