The AMA Council of Doctors in Training recently held the AMA’s second Trainee Forum to discuss best practice principles for examination and assessment feedback.

At the AMA’s Trainee Forum, Council of Doctors in Training (AMACDT) Chair Dr Sanjay Hettige facilitated a discussion on best principles for examination feedback with trainee chairs and representatives from specialist medical colleges.

Attendees discussed best practice principles for examination and assessment feedback, and noted that receiving quality and timely assessment feedback is considered essential for good learning practices and trainee well-being.

Competency Based Medical Training (CBMT) was also discussed with attendees noting it provided high-quality feedback, however, they cautioned against complete reliance on this method as the only solution to receiving quality and timely feedback.
