Announcing our new upcoming Communal Food Organics hub locations

City of Port Phillip
Last month, we announced the extension of the Communal Food Organic Hubs trial until January 2023 as well as the addition of three new hubs across the City.

We are delighted to announce the location of are three new hubs will be at:

  • Walter Reserve, Port Melbourne
  • Clarke Reserve, Elwood
  • Hewison Reserve, East St Kilda.

Since May 2021, we’ve diverted over 28 tonnes of food organics material from landfill which is a testament to our community’s commitment to sustainability and contributing to a greener City. Our new hubs will give our residents wider access to our communal hub service as we hope to divert even more food organic material from landfill.

We anticipate the new sites will be installed and ready to use from January 2022, which will give us a total of six communal food organic hubs across Port Phillip.

Our existing hubs are located at:

  • HR Johnson Reserve, St Kilda West
  • Lagoon Reserve, Port Melbourne
  • Rats of Tobruk Reserve, Albert Park.

These locations will continue to serve the surrounding areas.
