Appeal after cyclist hit by motorised scooter, NSW

Police are appealing for information following a hit-and-run incident in Sydney’s west yesterday afternoon.

Just after 3pm yesterday (Saturday 30 July 2022), emergency services were called to the cycleway next to the M7 Westlink, Rooty Hill, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended and found a female cyclist with serious leg and arm injuries.

The 31-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have been told the woman was cycling in the designated bicycle lane when a white motorised Honda scooter collided with the cyclist, before fleeing the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
