Appeal after firearms stolen during break-in at Balranald, NSW

Police are appealing for public assistance after firearms were stolen during a break and enter in the state’s far west.

On Saturday (23 October 2021), officers attached to Barrier Police District received reports of a break-in at a home on Market Street, Balranald, believed to have occurred between March 2021 and October 2021.

Police have been told that four rifles, a shotgun and ammunition were stolen from a safe at the home.

Officers established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As part of inquiries, police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or suspicious activity in the area – or who has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area during the mentioned period – to contact Balranald Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
