Appeal after man shot at Albury

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance after a man was shot in the state’s south yesterday.

About 3.20pm (Thursday 2 November 2023), emergency services were called to Maryville Way, Thurgoona, following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and located a 26-year-old man with wounds to his hand and shoulder.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Albury Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene which has been forensically examined and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Dicty.

As inquiries continue, investigators have released CCTV of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as wearing a blue and white long sleeve shirt, black pants, shoes, and a cap. He is wearing a face mask and carrying a black shoulder bag.
