Appeal after robbery in Sydney CBD

Police are appealing for public assistance following a robbery in the Sydney CBD at the weekend.

About 10.45pm on Saturday (12 December 2020), an unknown man entered a convenience store on Liverpool Street and threatened a customer, a 28-year-old man, demanding cash and his mobile phone.

When he refused, the man snatched the phone from his hand.

Police have been told a second unknown man grabbed the customer around the neck from behind and threatened to assault him.

The two unknown men left on foot and headed east on Liverpool Street, before smashing the phone on the ground.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended a short time later and commenced an investigation.

As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives have released images of two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The customer was not injured during the incident.
