Appeal for driver and witnesses to pedestrian crash at Fairfield, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash that may have resulted in the death of a woman in Sydney’s west last month.

About 4.30pm on Tuesday 18 December 2018, 55-year-old Minda Limbo was crossing Station Street, Fairfield, near the intersection with Granville Street, when it is believed she was struck by a vehicle described as a small, grey coloured SUV.

After the collision she fell and hit her head on the roadway.

It is believed the vehicle stopped and several people attended to assist. After a short period of time, Ms Limbo left the scene, returning to her home in Granville Street.

Police and NSW Ambulance were called and attended a short time later, however all parties had left the scene.

The following day (Wednesday 19 December 2018), Ms Limbo died in her home.

An autopsy revealed injuries which were consistent with her involvement in the motor vehicle collision.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have commenced an investigation and are asking for witnesses, as well as the driver of the motor vehicle, to come forward.

CCTV images of Ms Limbo on a bus shortly before the incident have been released.

At the time, she was wearing dark coloured long pants, a light pink jacket, a blue wide brimmed hat and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
