Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a life-threatening assault in Cranbourne yesterday afternoon.
It is believed the 46-year-old male victim had been socialising with several people in the vicinity of Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre prior to 2pm on Monday 23 December.
He was later located injured by a member of the public inside a Williams Street home about 5.20pm.
The Cranbourne man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who had any interaction with the victim in the lead-up to the assault.
