Appeal for information after man dies in hospital after stabbing – North Albury

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man died in hospital following a stabbing in the state’s south last month.

About 1am on Sunday 27 September 2026, emergency services were called to Calimo Street, North Albury, after reports a man had been found injured.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and located a 28-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his neck.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established and Murray River detectives, commenced Strike Force Metron to investigate the stabbing.

Yesterday (Sunday 4 October 2026), strike force detectives were told the 28-year-old had died in hospital.

State Crime Command Homicide Squad will now assist Murray River Police District officers with the investigation.

A report will be prepared for the information of the NSW Coroner.
