Appeal for information into suspicious church fire – Terrigal

Police are appealing for information into a suspicious fire at a church on the Central Coast yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a church on Willoughby Road, Terrigal, about midnight (Sunday 3 December 2023), following reports a building was on fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire; however, the building sustained significant damage.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and – with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Financial Crimes Squad Arson Unit – commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have information, dashcam footage from the area at the time, or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Gosford Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
