Appeal to ID man after sex act on train in Sydney’s south-west

Officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command are appealing for assistance as investigations continue into a reported sex act on a train in Sydney’s south-west last month.

Police have been told a 30-year-old woman was seated on a train travelling from Town Hall Railway Station to Liverpool, when she was approached by a man, bout 3.10pm on Wednesday 11 January 2023, who reportedly committed an act of indecency.

The woman got off at Liverpool and alerted trains staff, who informed police.

Officers attached to Police Transport and Public Safety Command commenced an investigation into the incident and have since established the man got off the train at Fairfield Railway Station about 3.38pm.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man depicted is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged 60 to 70, about 180cm tall, of medium build with short grey hair.

He is shown wearing a light-blue collared shirt, grey shorts, black sandals and a gold wristwatch.
