Appeal to identify vehicle after Brunswick hit-run

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers have released CCTV footage with the hope of identifying a vehicle and driver after a hit-run collision in Brunswick last month.

Police have been told a 21-year-old man was riding his skateboard along Victoria Street, near Melville Road, about 9.50pm on Tuesday, 18 January.

The Brunswick West man heard a vehicle approach him from behind before the car accelerated and collided with him, causing him to mount the bonnet.

The victim was dragged for approximately 20 metres before he fell off the vehicle.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, however has since been released but is still recovering from a broken ankle and wrist.

The driver of the unknown vehicle, believed to be an early 2000s white Nissan Pulsar, failed to stop and remains outstanding at this stage.

Police have today released CCTV footage of a vehicle in the hope someone recognises it and comes forward to assist with the investigation.
