Appeal to identify woman last seen in Blue Mountains

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a woman who was last seen on a walking track in the Blue Mountains earlier this week.

About 9.30am on Tuesday (8 August 2023), a woman was seen on a walking track near Kanimbla Road, Blackheath.

Due to her distressed state, concerns were raised for her welfare and officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified.

Despite an extensive search with assistance from Blue Mountains Police Rescue and PolAir, the woman was unable to be located.

Police continue to hold concerns for the woman’s welfare and are now appealing for public assistance to identify her.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of the woman which were captured at Blackheath Railway Station about 6am the same day.

The woman depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall with mousey hair and is shown wearing a white hooded jumper and khaki jacket.

Anyone who may have saw her or has information into her identity or whereabouts is urged to call Blue Mountains police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
