Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from western Sydney.
Ofiso Lasalo, aged 85, was last seen crossing Merrylands Road towards Addlestone Road, Merrylands, about 12.40pm today (Saturday 29 August 2026).
When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Police hold concerns for Ofiso’s welfare as he lives with several medical conditions which require regular medication, he requires a walking stick to walk and has limited English language.
Ofiso is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 180cm tall, of medium build with short grey hair, and is clean-shaven.
When last seen he was wearing a cream-coloured knitted jumper, black tracksuit pants, and a black bucket-style hat. He uses a brown-coloured walking stick.
Ofiso is known to frequent the Merrylands and Granville areas.
