Appeal to locate elderly man missing from Merrylands

Police are appealing for assistance to locate an elderly man missing from Merrylands West.

Ning Ye, aged 88, was last seen at his home on Eddy Street, Merrylands West, about 6.30am today (Tuesday 18 April 2023).

When he could not be located by family he was reported missing to officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Ning’s welfare as he lives with dementia and medical conditions.

Ning is described as being of Asian appearance, about 172cm tall, of thin build with white hair and walks with a shuffle.

He may appear disorientated and be carrying a red bag. Ning’s first language is Mandarin.

Ning is known to frequent the local Merrylands area and Parramatta Westfield.

Anyone with information about Ning’s whereabouts is urged to call Granville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
