Applications are now open for the 2020 Medical Service Improvement Program

Now in its ninth year, this innovative program run by the Institute for Health Leadership continues to produce outstanding young leaders within our hospitals.

The program supports the development of junior doctors and promotes service improvement across Western Australia’s health system. The program empowers junior medical leaders to make meaningful improvements and to become strong advocates of better safety, quality and service.

It also includes ongoing leadership and professional development opportunities. Participants receive training on service improvement methodologies and have the opportunity to attend a range of professional development workshops and masterclasses on topics such as authentic leadership, teamwork, communication skills, influence skills and mindfulness.

The program aims to engage RMOs in clinical service redesign and support them to design and complete improvement projects that will impact medical workflow and provide benefit to their health site.

The program comprises a 10-13 week non-clinical rotation at WA Health’s metropolitan hospitals during RMO rotation 2, 3 and 4.

Applications close 4.00pm Monday 16 September 2019.
