Applications now open for our new internship program in London

The Climate Group is pleased to announce that we are now seeking applications for our new paid internship program in our London office.

We know that getting your foot on the career ladder isn’t always easy, particularly in an expensive global city like London, and even more so if you’re from a minority group or don’t have the means or networks to secure that first opportunity.

For this reason, we are delighted to be partnering with Creative Access, a non-profit organization that specialises in placing individuals from BAME and other under-represented communities into sectors where we know diversity could be better.

As an organization dedicated to addressing the world’s greatest challenge, we recognise the importance of creating a diverse and inclusive workforce in our sector. To solve climate change we need as many perspectives, ideas and the best talent and solutions as possible. Increasing diversity is a key way of enabling this.

Supporting young professionals in this way is the right thing to do. It’s right because getting ahead shouldn’t be determined by where you come from or who you know. And it’s right because we need to be investing properly in the next generation of climate leaders, thinkers and doers. We are therefore excited to be creating these opportunities to become involved in the work we do towards solving climate change.

Two internships are being offered as the first phase of our new programme. One is in the Communications team which is focused on boosting the profile and influence of our programs to accelerate climate action. The second is in our Business Actions team which works with global corporations to increase their use of renewable energy, electric transportation and smart energy use.

Both placements are for 6 months and the successful candidates will be paid at the London Living Wage.

Our internships are intended to provide a wide and varied learning and development experience. Interns, for example, will be part of teams delivering ambitious international projects, often working with senior stakeholders in business and government. Key activities will include such things as supporting stakeholder engagement, research and analysis, and project planning. Transferable skills in building effective communications, admin and time management across teams will also be gained.

To apply for the internships, please visit Creative Access’ website here for the Communications role and here for the Business Action role. Please do not submit applications directly to The Climate Group as these will not be processed.
