Hume City Council is ensuring locals who are doing amazing things in and for our community get the recognition they deserve with the revamped ‘Hume Community Awards’ on Tuesday 24 October.
We know that not everyone expects a thank you for their contributions to making Hume a better place, but Council also knows that acknowledgement can go a long way to feeling proud of one’s achievements, and inspiring others to do the same.
The 2023 I Love Hume – Hume Community Awards will be a chance for locals to show what they value when it comes to community pride and spirit, backed by a number of new award categories that better represent Hume residents.
To ensure the event is a true celebration of the unique achievements of residents the Hume Community Awards will become the primary annual ceremony for community recognition, replacing the Australia Day Awards on 26 January.
Nominations are now open across eight categories, including:
Academic Excellence
Advocacy and Social Justice
Arts and Creative Expression
Community Service Excellence
Environmental Stewardship
Outstanding Cultural Leadership
Outstanding Community Leadership
Sports and Recreation Achievement
Applications are now open until Sunday 17 September.
